Neurosurgery/Neuroendovascular Physician – Locum Tenens

Location: Charleston, SC
Employment Type: Locum Tenens – 1099

Schedule
• Standard Day Shift: 8 hours, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Coverage: Scheduled + On-Call required
• Average call coverage: ~4 days per month (variable depending on PTO, CME, and supporting call)

Work Setting
• Acute Care Hospital (~300+ beds)
• Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 ER coverage
• Teaching hospital with residents and learners
• Broad service lines: stroke, neurosurgery, spine, cardiac, ICU, oncology
• 24/7 hospitalists and intensivists in-house

Responsibilities
• Provide neurosurgical coverage for ED consults and trauma call (average 6–10 consults per shift; volume varies based on acuity)
• Perform stroke interventions and neuroendovascular procedures
• Support resident/learner education and workflow in a teaching hospital setting
• Variable call coverage as needed for PTO and CME support

Requirements
• Must be dually trained in Neurosurgery and Neuroendovascular
• Must hold an active SC medical license
• Experience in trauma care and stroke interventions preferred
• Proficiency with eClinicalWorks charting software

Additional Information
• No midlevel support for coverage
• Neurointerventional Radiologists will not be considered
• Coverage is primarily for PTO, CME, and supporting call of permanent staff

• Dually trained in Neurosurgery and Neuroendovascular
• Active SC medical license
