Job description

Aya Locums is seeking a dually trained Neurosurgeon / Neuroendovascular specialist for a flexible locum’s opportunity in South Carolina.

• Start Date: June 2026
• Contract Length: Ongoing, intermittent coverage
• Schedule: Standard weekday shifts with additional call responsibilities
• Coverage Model: Scheduled clinical coverage plus on-call duties
• Volume Need: Approximately 4 days per month (varies based on PTO, CME, and call support needs)

Work Details
• Specialty: Neurosurgery / Neuroendovascular
• Scope: Combination of neurosurgical care and endovascular stroke intervention
• Call Expectations: ED consults for trauma cases (average 6–10, variable based on acuity)
• Procedures: Stroke interventions and neuroendovascular cases required
• Patient Volume: Moderate-to-high daily consult load
• Support Staff: Multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and specialty support

• Inpatient, acute care hospital environment
• ~300+ bed facility
• Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services
• Comprehensive service lines including stroke, spine, cardiac, ICU, and oncology
• Teaching hospital with active resident involvement

Requirements
• License: Active South Carolina medical license required (in hand)
• Training: Must be dually trained in Neurosurgery and Neuroendovascular
• Experience: Proven experience in both neurosurgical procedures and stroke interventions
• Availability: Flexibility for variable monthly coverage and call
