Opportunity Highlights:
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

Frequency: No more than one weekend per month

Setting: Inpatient only – no clinic or elective cases

Cases: Emergent only – Craniotomies and spine surgeries required

Support: Potential APP coverage (not guaranteed)

Candidate Requirements:
Board Certified/Eligible in Neurosurgery

Board Eligible accepted if fellowship-trained within the past 5 years

Licensure: Active VA medical license required (willing to license)

Certifications: BLS and ACLS required

DEA: Must have VA DEA

Experience: Minimum 2 years post-training

Procedures: Must be fully competent in craniotomies and spine surgeries

Background: Clean professional record (dismissed cases acceptable)

Additional Details:
Patient Volume: Variable; adults only, emergent cases only

Credentialing Timeline:

60 days with active VA license and DEA

Up to 90 days if licensing is required

Travel & Lodging: Covered
