Neurosurgery Physician (Locum Tenens) – Chesapeake, VA

📅 Schedule & Details
Call Frequency: One weekend per month

Shift Type: 24-hour call, Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

Setting: Hospital-based, emergent only

Support Staff: APPs may be available (not guaranteed)

Patient Population: Adult only

EMR: Epic

🛠️ Clinical Requirements
Must be proficient and current in:

Craniotomies

Spine surgeries

Emergent case experience required

No clinic or elective procedures

✅ Qualifications
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurosurgery (BE accepted within 5 years of fellowship)

Active VA medical license (or willing to obtain – licensing support available)

BLS/ACLS certification required

VA DEA required

Minimum 2 years of experience

Must have a clean background (dismissed cases are acceptable)

Comfortable functioning independently in high-acuity emergency scenarios

⏱️ Credentialing Timeframe
60 days with active VA license and DEA

Up to 90 days without licensure – licensing support offered
