Neurosurgeon - General Cranial & Spine Call Coverage in Virginia

Aya Locums is working with a Virginia hospital seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon for urgent inpatient coverage beginning in October.
The assignment is structured around 24-hour coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM, with multiple full-week blocks available through early January. There are no clinic responsibilities. The clinical scope is broad General Neurosurgery, including both cranial and spinal work.
The Neurosurgeon will provide inpatient coverage with support from two additional Neurosurgeons and a PA. The service averages approximately 5-7 patients per day and uses Epic. The hospital also has seven operating rooms available to support the surgical service.
This is true active call coverage, with regular callbacks and admissions, so the opening is best suited for a Neurosurgeon who remains current in both general cranial and spinal care and is comfortable managing an inpatient service over a full 24-hour period.
The hospital is using locum coverage while recruiting a permanent Neurosurgeon, so there may also be longer-term possibilities for a physician who eventually finds the practice and community to be a good fit.
An active Virginia license is required at submission, along with current Board Certification.
