Pediatric Neurosurgery APP – Inpatient

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide inpatient pediatric neurosurgery care in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of neurosurgery experience and be comfortable managing patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and supporting discharge planning.

SCHEDULE

✓ 3 × 13-hour shifts per week
✓ 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
✓ No nights or holidays
✓ Full-time preferred; candidates available for a minimum of 2 weeks per month will also be considered.

CLINICAL DETAILS

✓ Setting: Hospital, inpatient pediatric neurosurgery
✓ Patient Population: Pediatric patients
✓ EMR: Epic
✓ Experience: Minimum 1 year of neurosurgery experience
✓ Credentialing: Approximately 90 days

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ Round with residents at the start of the day to review patient status and treatment plans.

✓ Evaluate patients requiring assessment and follow-up.

✓ Review, enter, and manage patient orders.

✓ Coordinate inpatient care and treatment plans with the neurosurgery team.

✓ Assist with discharge planning and documentation.

✓ Provide direct patient care throughout the assignment.

✓ Remove Hemovac and JP drains when indicated; experience with drain removal is preferred.

Note: APPs are responsible for patient care and do not participate in the operating room. Residents assist with OR procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

✓ Board certification in Neurosurgery required.

✓ Active Massachusetts (MA) license required.

✓ Minimum of 1 year of neurosurgery experience.

✓ Experience providing inpatient pediatric neurosurgery care preferred.

✓ Must be available for the required schedule and credentialing process.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

✓ Overtime is paid at the regular rate.

✓ Holiday rate is 1.4× the regular rate.

✓ First 8 hours of orientation are non-billable.

✓ Travel is all-inclusive; local providers are preferred.
