Locum Neurosurgery PA/NP - Hybrid - CA license - Will license PA

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum services in a neurosurgery setting in Monterey, CA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an APP looking for full-time coverage starting February 9, 2026.

🏥 Job Details:
Specialty: Neurosurgery – Inpatient/Outpatient Hybrid
Setting: 70% Outpatient Clinic / 30% Inpatient Hospital
Schedule:

Full-time, 5 days per week (Monday–Friday)
Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
No call required

Contract Length: 26 weeks
Start Date: February 9, 2026 (credentialing required)
Patient Volume:

Outpatient: ~15–20 patients/day
Surgical cases: ~5–7 per week
Patient Population: Adults
Charting Software: Epic
Support Staff: Surgery scheduler, MA, scribe; inpatient work is more independent with surgeon collaboration


✅ Requirements:

For NPs: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC certification
For PAs: Master’s in PA Studies
Active California license (required for NPs; PAs may not require licensing)
DEA with Schedule II authority (required)
BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 1 year experience in neurosurgery (3–5 years strongly preferred)
Preferred: Surgical specialty/procedural experience in high-acuity environments
