Facility:
This is a 233-bed community hospital that serves as the only trauma center in Windham and New London Counties, featuring separate Medical and Surgical ICUs, 12 operating rooms, and 24/7 trauma and neurohospitalist coverage. The facility is part of Connecticut's most comprehensive health system, encompassing nearly 500 locations serving 185 towns and cities, including two tertiary-level teaching hospitals, a behavioral health network, and a multispecialty physician group.

Opportunity:
Physician - Neurosurgery

Job Details:

  • Join an established neurosurgery program with immediate volume, focusing primarily on spine surgery
  • Provide 24/7 neurosurgery call coverage at the hospital on a Q3 call schedule supported by mid-levels
  • Collaborate within a partnership model between ortho-spine and neuro-spine surgeons, with a shared PA service between Neurosurgery and Orthopedics
  • Access to state-of-the-art surgical technology including Globus Robot for spine surgery, Stealth Navigation with O-arm, Zeiss Kinevo Microscope, and ancillary spine equipment
  • First year expected volume of 100+ cases, growing to 200-250 cases once established
  • Dedicated block OR time at the hospital
  • Position includes two ambulatory clinic locations: a marquee ambulatory site in Mystic, CT offering neurosurgery, neuromuscular, pain management, headache, epilepsy, movement disorders, and an infusion center; and a multi-specialty outpatient clinic in Norwich, CT located just 1 mile from the hospital
  • Interests in complex spine, general intracranial, and basic neurotrauma will be fully supported
  • Opportunity to work alongside experienced neurosurgeons and a full-time physician assistant
  • Neurosurgery residency required
