Neurohospitalist Coverage With Flexible 7-Day Blocks

Aya Locums is assisting an established hospital-based neurology program with Neurohospitalist coverage across several seven-day blocks beginning in September 2026. Physicians who can cover multiple blocks are appreciated, but flexibility is available and individual blocks will be considered.

The Neurohospitalist will provide general inpatient neurology and acute stroke care for adult and geriatric patients. The weekday schedule is 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., with daytime responsibility for stroke alerts and thrombolytic decision-making. Patient volume ranges from approximately 4-17 patients per day, and 12 paid hours are guaranteed for each scheduled coverage day.

Weekend coverage includes daytime patient care followed by overnight call for inpatient concerns and unclaimed emergency department consultations. Overnight stroke alerts are handled by a separate telestroke service. Callback volume is generally low, and the physician can often advise on stabilization remotely and evaluate the patient the following morning unless an urgent return is clinically necessary. Available coverage blocks are September 2-8, October 14-20, November 11-17 and December 9-15, 2026, followed by January 6-12 and February 3-9, 2027.

The program is supported by an established neuroscience team and uses Epic. Board-certified or board-eligible neurologists with at least two years of experience will be considered. No vascular neurology or neurocritical care fellowship is required, and the physician is not required to perform EMG, EEG, Botox injections or other specialized procedures.

An active Idaho license is welcomed, but Aya Locums can assist IMLC-qualified physicians with obtaining an Idaho license and required state credentials. Airfare, lodging and rental transportation or mileage are covered.
