Position: Neurologist (Neurohospitalist)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Setting: Inpatient Neurology Coverage at Two Hospitals
Schedule: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
Start Date: July 2026
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate plus callback pay

Schedule

Available coverage includes:
July 21 (7:00 AM) – July 23 (7:00 AM)
August 4 (7:00 AM) – August 11 (7:00 AM)
September 1 (7:00 AM) – September 3 (7:00 AM)

Daily structure:
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM onsite
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM call
Average daily census is approximately 20 patients.

Practice Details
Inpatient consult service only
Coverage includes:
Neuro ICU
Emergency Department
Medical/Surgical Floors
Stroke Program
Seizure Management
EEG interpretation and reads
One physician and one APP assigned daily
APPs assist with rounding and patient management
Coverage spans two hospitals, with APP support helping facilitate care between locations

Clinical Responsibilities
Inpatient neurology consultations
Acute stroke evaluation and management
Seizure diagnosis and treatment
EEG interpretation and reading
Neuro ICU support
APP collaboration and supervision
General inpatient neurologic care

Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
Active South Carolina medical license required
Active DEA required
BLS certification required
Comfortable reading and interpreting EEGs
Must remain local while on call per hospital bylaws
