Neuro ICU Nurse Practitioner – Level I Trauma Center | 12 Shifts/Month | New Orleans
Job description
We’re seeking a Board-Certified NP (AGACNP or equivalent) with 2–3 years of neurocritical care experience to join a Neuro ICU team in a Level I trauma hospital in downtown Louisiana. The assignment begins after a 60-day credentialing period and includes 12 shifts every 4 weeks, with exposure to high-acuity neurologic patients aged 18+.
You’ll collaborate with nursing, RT, and neurointensivists in a closed ICU environment using EPIC EMR. Providers will manage critically ill patients with conditions such as stroke, TBI, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and neuromuscular respiratory failure. Additional responsibilities include ventilator management, sedation, ICP management, and emergency neurocritical procedures.
Preferred procedures include: CVC and arterial line insertion, lumbar punctures, and advanced post-op neurosurgical care. Candidates must be licensed in Louisiana, and hold active DEA, CSR, ENLS, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
