LOCUM NURSE PRACTITIONER – CARDIOLOGY

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with Cardiology experience for a locum tenens opportunity providing inpatient cardiac care.

POSITION DETAILS

✓ Job Type: Locum Tenens
✓ Specialty: Cardiology
✓ Start Date: September 8, 2026
✓ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
✓ Practice Setting: Inpatient/Hospital-Based
✓ Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
✓ Coverage: 100% Inpatient
✓ Average Patient Volume: Approximately 10–15+ patients per day, depending on volume
✓ EMR: Epic

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Nurse Practitioner will work independently alongside an Interventional Cardiologist to provide inpatient cardiology care, including:

✓ Managing new patient evaluations
✓ Conducting follow-up visits
✓ Daily rounding
✓ Clinical documentation
✓ Discharge planning
✓ Coordination of patient care

CALL REQUIREMENTS

✓ Beeper/Phone Call
✓ Call Ratio: Approximately 1:3 to 1:4
✓ Average Callback Time: Approximately 2 hours

REQUIREMENTS

✓ Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
✓ Active Virginia license required
✓ Minimum of 2 years of relevant or similar experience required
✓ Active ACLS certification
✓ Active BLS certification
✓ Active DEA required
✓ Clean background required
✓ No malpractice or license issues; no exceptions
