Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to conduct surveys and complaint investigations within adult care and nursing home facilities. This role focuses on evaluating nutritional services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and investigating concerns related to dietary care to help protect resident health and safety.

Qualifications
✓ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field
✓ Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
✓ Must maintain required state licensure
✓ Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a medical facility required
✓ Nursing home/long-term care experience preferred
✓ 2 years of nursing home surveillance experience preferred
✓ Ability to obtain Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) certification within 12 months of employment
✓ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
✓ Ability to handle difficult or controversial situations professionally
✓ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
✓ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✓ Ability to effectively communicate with providers, physicians, administrators, facility staff, residents, and families
✓ Strong investigative, analytical, and interviewing skills
✓ Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software/programs

Key Responsibilities
✓ Conduct on-site surveys and complaint investigations at adult care and nursing home facilities
✓ Evaluate nutritional care services for compliance with federal and state regulations
✓ Interview facility staff, residents, and families during investigations
✓ Review and analyze facility records and findings
✓ Prepare detailed investigative reports, including Statements of Deficiencies
✓ Assess the adequacy and implementation of Plans of Correction
✓ Provide professional expertise regarding dietary standards and nutritional care requirements
✓ Identify deficiencies and evaluate facility compliance and corrective actions
✓ Support efforts to maintain high standards of resident health, safety, and quality of care

Schedule & Travel Requirements
✓ Full-time position with on-site travel requirements
✓ Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, as work schedules will be determined by the state
✓ Availability for weekends, holidays, and evening shifts may be required
✓ Weekend, holiday, and evening assignments will be scheduled on a rotating basis
✓ This is a travel position involving visits to healthcare facilities
✓ Holiday and overtime work may qualify for premium pay
