Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – California
Job description
Schedule:
Minimum of 4 shifts per month
12-hour or 24-hour shifts available
Responsibilities:
Provide prenatal care and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout pregnancy
Manage labor progression and support natural childbirth techniques, including mobility and hydrotherapy
Administer and manage pain control options, including epidurals and other medications
Perform deliveries and assist with medical interventions when necessary
Provide postpartum care and assess maternal recovery
Offer lactation support and education
Provide routine care and assessments for newborns
Collaborate closely with physicians, CNMs, and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications
Experience managing intrapartum and postpartum patients (2+ years preferred)
First Assist training with active First Assist experience required
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative OB/CNM practice
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to patient-centered care, shared decision-making, and a holistic approach to women's health
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required by start date
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by start date
Active certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
Preferred Qualifications
Obstetric Ultrasound certification
Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
Lactation Consultant certification or experience
