Job description

We are seeking **two Board-Certified Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs)** for a locum tenens assignment at a high-acuity teaching hospital in Massachusetts. This opportunity includes one dedicated **day-shift** provider and one dedicated **night-shift** provider to provide full-scope inpatient midwifery care in a collaborative academic environment.

Position Details

* **Position:** Locum Tenens Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM)
* **Location:** Massachusetts
* **Assignment Dates:** July 6–10 and July 13–17
* **Openings:** 2 Providers

* 1 Day Shift
* 1 Night Shift
* **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts

* Days: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
* Nights: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
* **Call:** No on-call responsibilities outside scheduled shifts
* **Orientation:** 8 hours (non-billable)

Practice Setting

* High-acuity teaching hospital
* Full-scope inpatient midwifery practice
* Approximately **4–5 deliveries per day**, with unit census reaching up to **20 patients**
* Collaborative environment working alongside OB physicians and medical residents
* Epic EMR

Responsibilities

* Provide obstetric triage and inpatient obstetric care
* Manage labor and perform vaginal deliveries
* Provide intrapartum and postpartum care
* Interpret electronic fetal monitoring
* Perform episiotomies and perineal repairs as needed
* Conduct history and physical examinations
* Order and interpret laboratory studies
* Educate patients throughout the prenatal and postpartum periods
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and residents to deliver high-quality patient care

**Please Note:** There are **no surgical First Assist responsibilities** associated with this assignment.

Requirements

* Board Certified Certified Nurse-Midwife (AMCB)
* Active Massachusetts CNM license (must be in hand)
* Current BLS certification
* Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
* Minimum of **3 years of Certified Nurse-Midwife experience**
* Recent hospital-based midwifery experience required
* Proficiency with Epic EMR
