Certified Nurse Midwife – Outpatient & L&D – Cookeville, TN

Job description

Start Date: ASAP, or as soon as credentialed (November start possible)
Contract Length: 3 months with the option to extend
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Inpatient Coverage
Shifts: 4–8 shifts/month | 12-hour and 24-hour shifts available
Location: Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, TN

Job Details:

Independently manage and provide full-scope midwifery care in the outpatient clinic, including comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services

Provide day-to-day expertise and leadership on Labor & Delivery, including in-house clinical coverage

Collaborate with OB/GYNs, RNs, LCSWs, health coaches, lactation counselors, childbirth educators, and other specialists

Triage and care for emergent obstetric patients in collaboration with RNs and OB/GYNs

Optional: Provide first assist surgical support

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, training, and drills for high acuity/low frequency events

Practice Setting:

Outpatient clinic & hospital L&D

Facility: Cookeville Regional Medical Center

12 LDR rooms, 11 postpartum rooms

2 dedicated C-section surgical suites

Level II NICU, 24/7 anesthesia coverage

Modern, full-service hospital with midwifery-led care model support

Requirements:

Active AMCB certification

Current RN and APRN license in TN

BLS certification required by start date

NRP certification preferred

Experience in managing intrapartum, postpartum, and OB triage in a hospital setting

Strong collaboration skills with physicians, nurses, and other providers

Preferred but not required: Obstetric ultrasound, advanced fetal monitoring, lactation consultation

Patient Population: Obstetric and gynecologic patients (outpatient + inpatient L&D coverage)

Credentialing Timeframe: ~30 days
