Position Overview
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will independently manage and deliver full-scope midwifery care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role includes providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and offering leadership and clinical expertise in Labor and Delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent, full-scope midwifery care in an outpatient setting
- Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services
- Collaborate with clinical colleagues, including OB/GYNs, RNs, LCSWs, health coaches, lactation counselors, childbirth educators, and other specialists
- Provide leadership and clinical coverage on Labor and Delivery, including in-house responsibilities
- Manage a daily patient volume of approximately 16–19 patients with staggered scheduling
- Utilize Athena EMR for documentation and patient management
Team Structure:
2 OB/GYN physicians
1–2 Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners (WHNPs)
2 Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)
Dedicated Medical Assistant support
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in intrapartum and postpartum care preferred
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative OB/CNM practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care, including shared decision-making and a holistic approach
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required by start date
- Active certification with the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
- Current RN and APRN license in Texas
- Additional certifications in obstetric ultrasound, advanced fetal monitoring, and/or lactation consultation are preferred
