Escape the ordinary and practice in one of the most breathtaking locations in the country. An established facility in Ketchikan, Alaska is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN physician for flexible locums coverage in a unique coastal community surrounded by mountains, forests, and waterfront views.


Known as one of Alaska’s most popular cruise ship destinations, Ketchikan offers a vibrant waterfront atmosphere with incredible local culture, restaurants, outdoor adventure, and stunning scenery right outside your door.


Whether you enjoy fishing, hiking, kayaking, wildlife, or simply experiencing Alaska’s unmatched natural beauty, this assignment offers the chance to combine meaningful clinical work with an unforgettable lifestyle experience.


Position Highlights:
• Flexible schedule — approximately 1 week per month with ongoing coverage needs
• Practice in scenic coastal Alaska surrounded by mountains, wildlife, fishing, and outdoor adventure
• Supportive coverage model with a second OB/GYN on call, 24/7 ED coverage, and hospitalist support

Compensation & Benefits:
• All-inclusive compensation: $1,800–$2,000 per day
• Additional hourly callback pay after 8 clinic hours
• Travel and lodging provided

Location:
Ketchikan, AK — known as Alaska’s “First City,” Ketchikan offers breathtaking waterfront views, incredible fishing, hiking, kayaking, and a unique small-community atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the country.

Work Environment & Schedule:
• Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient
• Facility: PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center
• Coverage Need: 0.25 FTE
• Assignment Length: Approximately 6 months
• Clinic Volume: Around 10 patients per day
• Labor & Delivery Volume: 0–2 deliveries per day
• 25-bed hospital with 5 labor & delivery beds
• Responsibilities include clinic coverage, rounding, admissions, and full-scope OB/GYN care
• No expectation for scheduled surgeries unless assistance is needed

Requirements:
• Board Certified OB/GYN
• BLS certification required
• Active Alaska license and DEA preferred
• Recent OB/GYN clinical activity within the past 24 months required for credentialing

Additional Information:
The client may be open to supporting physicians interested in obtaining Alaska temporary locums licensure for later 2026 coverage.
