This regional medical center serves as a vital healthcare hub for the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, providing comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services to the local community. The facility features a 10-bed department and operates as a Level 3 trauma center, ensuring quality care for women and families throughout the region.
Opportunity:
Physician - Obstetrics and Gynecology
Job Details:
• Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services with 5 patient encounters per shift
• Must have active Alaska medical license - only Alaska licensed providers will be considered
• Handle low and high risk pregnancies with full delivery capabilities
• Perform routine and complicated deliveries including vaginal, cesarean sections, breech, multiple births, and VBACs
• Manage pregnancy complications including abruptions and decision-making for c-sections
• Conduct OB ultrasounds (Level I and II) with performance and interpretation capabilities
• Perform FHR interpretation including NST/CST/FSE and amniocentesis procedures
• Handle low forceps deliveries and repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
• Provide office/minor gynecology services including IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP procedures
• Perform surgical gynecology procedures including open and laparoscopic operations
• Conduct major operative procedures including ectopic pregnancy management, ovary removal, and cystectomy
• Board certification required (board certification eligible considered)
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Emergency credentialing available with approximately 5-day timeframe
• Lodging options include local hotels and Airbnb accommodations
• Start date July 21, 2026 with ongoing coverage needs
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
