# OB/GYN Locums – Southern California

**Start:** ASAP, including holidays
**Schedule:** 14–20 locums days per month
**Length:** Ongoing / Long-Term
**Shift:** 24-hour hospital call
**Coverage:** Weekdays, weekends, and holidays


## Requirements

* Active **California medical license** required at the time of presentation
* Active **California DEA** or easily transferable DEA
* **CSR** required
* Must have had **inpatient hospital affiliation in OB/GYN within the last 2 years**
* Patient activity log required
* Must be able to perform **C-sections**

## EMR

* Hospital: **MedHost**
* Maternal Services: **Centricity**

## Position Details

The OB/GYN physician will provide ongoing hospital call coverage and manage OB patients coming from the clinic or walk-ins.

* Average hospital deliveries: **0–2 per day**
* Outpatient volume: **2–6 patients/day**, often managed by phone
* About **1–2 OB patients/month** may require transfer to a higher level of care
* Physician must assess transfer patients and communicate with the transfer center
* Physician is expected to be present for deliveries and perform C-sections when needed

## Support Staff

* **3 nurses per shift** with newborn care and NRP certification
* **1 OB Tech** who helps with:

* Newborn discharge
* Birth certificate registration
* Hearing screening
* Newborn screening
* Pediatric follow-up
* **2 Board-Certified Lactation Consultants**
* Baby Friendly designated hospital

• On Call Contract Only
• Ongoing for 6 months+
• 14-20 shifts a month
