OB/GYN Physician – 24-Hour Call (Every 5th Week)

Schedule: 24-Hour Call Coverage (1 Week per Month / Every 5th Week)

Assignment Dates: September 2026 – January 2, 2027

Position Overview

A hospital medical center in Mt. Pleasant, MI is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN Physician for recurring 24-hour call coverage. The assignment requires coverage every 5th week of the month, handling Labor & Delivery, ED consults, and urgent surgical cases supported by 2 on-site Nurse Practitioners.

Clinical Duties & Scope

Volume: Averages 4 deliveries per day.

Clinical Setting: Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department, and Surgical Suite.

Required Skills/Procedures: Low-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, VBAC, 3rd/4th-degree laceration repairs, OB Ultrasound, and Amniocentesis.

Support Staff: Supported by 2 Nurse Practitioners (NPs).

EMR: Cerner.

Qualifications & Requirements

Board Status: Board Certified in OB/GYN [REQUIRED]

Licensure: Active, unencumbered Michigan Medical License [REQUIRED]

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practicing OB/GYN experience [REQUIRED]

Background Check: NPDB report pulled within the last 30 days [REQUIRED at presentation]

Locality: Local or drive-in Michigan candidates [PREFERRED]

Shift Structure & Logistics

Shift Model: 24-Hour Call (Includes 2 hours gratis patient care; callback rate applies after 2 worked hours).

Orientation: Paid at 1/2 hourly rate.

Timekeeping: DocTime electronic clock in/out.

Travel & Lodging: Travel expenses covered per policy (direct hotel bookings only; no third-party sites like Expedia/Kayak due to tax-exempt status).
