Facility:
This facility is a Level 2 trauma center serving the Upper Peninsula region, offering a comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology program with approximately 370-380 OB deliveries per year. The 15-bed department features a collaborative environment that includes Family Medicine residents and medical students, providing a dynamic and rewarding clinical setting with strong institutional support.

Physician (MD) - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens assignment with scheduled dates beginning 1/28 (8a-4p) orientation, followed by ongoing assignments through 2025 and beyond
• 24-hour call, all-inclusive call coverage required
• Must arrive within 30 minutes of initial contact to ED or OB unit when required for emergency conditions or change noted from standard course of labor
• Must respond to ED and L&D within 10 minutes of initial contact
• Average of 8 calls per 24-hour period (approximately 55 per week)
• Average of 4.3 patient encounters per shift
• Attending must see patients any time condition warrants and within 12 hours after admission to L&D
• Rounding on both assigned and unassigned patients (FM residency generally covers unassigned)
• Supervision of Family Medicine residents and 3rd/4th year medical students required
• Must have an active Michigan license; IMLC not accepted
• Board certification or eligible status required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60 days
• Completion of a Conscious Sedation module required if candidate requests privileges for administration of conscious sedation (available at the facility at no cost)
