OBGYN – Mon–Thu Schedule in Rural North Carolina (Clinic + 24-Hr Call)

Location:
Rural community in southeastern North Carolina (near SC border)
Assignment Type:
Locum Tenens – OBGYN (Clinic + 24-hour in-house call)
Community-based critical-access hospital in southeastern North Carolina is seeking a board-certified OBGYN for an ongoing locums assignment beginning April 2026. This is an excellent fit for an experienced OB who enjoys continuity of care, a manageable call burden, and a small-town lifestyle within easy reach of major metros and beaches.
Schedule & Practice Details:
• Start: April 2026 (ongoing; credentialing committee meets late January).
• Weekly schedule:
o Monday–Wednesday: Outpatient clinic, 8a–5p (lunch 12–1).
o Thursday: 24-hour onsite OB call, 7a–7a (dedicated call room).
o Friday: No scheduled shift.
• Clinic volumes:
o 6–10 patients per half day; ~15–20 patients for a full clinic day.
• L&D volume:
o Average 2–3 deliveries per 24-hour call.
• Support:
o In-house CNM covering the full 24-hour call shift.
o L&D nurses, clinical/clerical staff, in-office lab, 2 ultrasound rooms with full-time sonographers.
o Hospital-owned practice; Epic EMR.
• Scope:
o Full-spectrum obstetrics and general GYN.
o Office procedures: LEEP, endometrial biopsy, colposcopy, IUD/implant insertion.
o Adult and adolescent OB/GYN patients.
Candidate Profile / Requirements:
• Board-Certified OBGYN (no new grads; seasoned provider preferred).
• Active North Carolina license or IMLC, plus NC DEA and BLS.
• Comfortable practicing in a rural hospital with a busy office and active L&D.
• Recent Epic experience.
• Clean background and name clear/NPI.
