Laborist needed for locum coverage in PA, willing to license

Job description

Aya Locums has an opening in PA. The facility is seeking a Laborist who can provide consistent, compassionate, high-quality, safe and patient-centric care, personalized to each and every patient. Under the direction of the Obstetrical Coordinator, the Laborist will provide in-house obstetrical physician coverage, and provide clinical oversight for the patients on the Labor floor. They will cover and supervise the care of midwife patients, serve as the midwives (backup) as well as triage emergencies; both obstetrical and gynecological. The candidates will be expected to work directly with the midwives in labor and delivery, the operating room, and the inpatient floors for any admitted Obstetrical patients as the attending physician. Laborist will present to the ER to triage patients with obstetrical or gynecological emergencies. They allow vaginal birth after cesarean VBACs, and the surgeon is required to be on site at the onset of active labor.

Start Date: 7/3/2023
Contract Length: 6 months
Schedule: 6 days per month every other week
Shift Details: 3 weekdays per month (2 Fridays); Fri- Mon 7:30am – 7:30am
Work Details:
o Support staff: 6 Surgeons, 5 midwives, 2 surgical PAs and 1 CRNP
o 60 births per month with a 30% C-Section rate
o Patient population/age: 30+
o EMR: EPIC
o Hospital bed size: 162
o Special procedures: 1-2 surgeries per call shift Emergency C-Section or GYN case
