OB Hospitalist Outside Nashville

Assignment Highlights
Start: Late June or July 2026
Schedule: 3–7 shifts per month
Setting: Inpatient OB Hospitalist

Position Overview

Join a well-supported women's health team providing inpatient OB Hospitalist coverage at a community hospital. You'll work alongside experienced Certified Nurse Midwives, who handle first call and are trained as surgical first assists, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality obstetrical care.

Responsibilities include:

Provide inpatient OB Hospitalist coverage
Serve as backup call support for CNMs
Manage and support high-risk obstetrical deliveries
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including 24/7 Anesthesiology, Neonatology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM)
Respond to callback needs while remaining within 15 minutes of the hospital during call

Practice Details
Approximately 600 deliveries annually
Strong collaborative care model with experienced support staff
Physicians must remain within a 15-minute response radius while on call

Qualifications
Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Active Tennessee medical license or IMLC
Active DEA registration
Minimum of 2 years of OB Hospitalist experience
High-risk obstetrical delivery experience required
