SUMO Medical Staffing is recruiting an experienced Obstetrics & Gynecology physician (MD/DO) for a full‑scope locum tenens opportunity in Petersburg, Virginia. This role supports clinic and call coverage at a Level III Trauma Center with EPIC EMR.

Position Details-
Start: Anticipated May 1, 2026 (expedited credentialing)
Coverage Type: Clinic and call (full scope)
Facility:
Trauma Level III
Nursery Level II
9 L&D beds; 20 postpartum beds
Current Physicians: 4
Support: OBHG hospitalist, surgical assistants, 3–4 nurses per shift
EMR: EPIC

Coverage Dates-
May: 1–3, 11, 14, 20
Clinic (no night call): 7, 12, 21, 26
June: 1, 4, 15, 18, 22, 26–28
July: 2, 4–5, 20, 24–26, 30

Clinical Expectations-
Low‑risk pregnancy: ~70%
High‑risk pregnancy: ~30%
C‑section rate: ~9%
Average admissions/day: 2–5
Call volume per 24‑hr shift: primarily consults; OB 0–2

Requirements-
Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license (in hand)
DEA
Board Certified (ABOG)
BLS (AHA)
Must cover both clinic and call
Must provide NPDB report and have a clean background
CV in MM/YYYY format with all 30+ day gaps explained
