Locum OB/GYN Physician – Clinic & In-House Call Coverage
Position: Locum Tenens OB/GYN
Start Date: ASAP, upon credentialing
Assignment Duration: 3–6 months
Schedule: 3 clinic shifts and 1 in-house call shift per week
Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
EMR: Epic
Schedule
✓ Clinic: 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM
✓ In-house call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24 hours)
✓ Three clinic shifts and one call shift per week
✓ Flexible availability across weeks
✓ Full-time, 1.0 FTE

Responsibilities
✓ Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
✓ Manage a patient population consisting of approximately 60–70% OB and 30–40% GYN.
✓ Care for high-risk and low-risk obstetric patients, including patients with diabetes, hypertension, advanced maternal age, and twin pregnancies.
✓ Provide gynecological services, including annual exams, abnormal uterine bleeding evaluations, birth control management, and surgical consultations for fibroids, polyps, and other conditions.
✓ Perform or provide office-based procedures, including LEEPs and colposcopies, as qualified and credentialed.
✓ Provide contraceptive services, including Depo-Provera, IUDs, and Nexplanon placement.
✓ Manage labor and delivery patients and provide gynecological coverage for the emergency department.
✓ Support CNMs and other providers, including first-assist responsibilities as needed.
✓ Provide care in a community hospital setting and support Level II nursery services.
Patient Volume: Approximately 18–24 patients per clinic day.
Clinical Environment
✓ Obstetric care includes high-risk and low-risk pregnancies.
✓ A sonographer is available for early pregnancy dating scans, fetal position checks, and basic gynecological ultrasounds.
✓ The nursery is Level II, with 24-hour staffing.
✓ Certified Nurse Midwives provide 24-hour coverage for deliveries, first-assist duties in the OR, and triage.
✓ Physicians typically deliver 1–2 patients per 24-hour period.
✓ Clinical support includes labor and delivery nurses, CNMs, physician providers, medical assistants, RNs, LPNs/LVNs, lab technicians, and X-ray technicians.
Requirements
✓ Board-certified OB/GYN preferred; board eligibility required.
✓ Active Washington medical license highly preferred. IMLC candidates must have a Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in hand.
✓ BLS certification required.
✓ DEA registration highly preferred and required during credentialing.
✓ Comfortable managing labor and delivery patients, providing emergency GYN coverage, and practicing in a community hospital setting.
✓ Clean malpractice history and background preferred.
✓ Local candidates are strongly preferred; air travel is not preferred.
Credentialing
✓ Minimum credentialing timeframe: 60 days.
