Job description

Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with all licensing, certification, and accrediting requirements

Evaluate and treat occupational medicine patients in accordance with established medical practice standards

Determine and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients

Complete all medical record documentation prior to the end of each shift

Collaborate with the Center Medical Director to ensure adherence to medical and professional standards

Recommend opportunities for growth and development of new or existing services

Participate in regular meetings to review quality of care, policies, procedures, and outcomes

Communicate with client representatives following employee injuries or significant status changes

Provide guidance to clinical staff in the absence of the Center Medical Director

Utilize clinical systems efficiently to ensure accurate documentation, coding, and charge capture

Ensure compliance with State Practice Act and Workers’ Compensation regulations

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and payers, responding to inquiries within 24 hours

Partner with leadership to optimize staffing, workflow efficiency, and patient satisfaction

Promote collaboration, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement across the center

Support and implement company-wide initiatives and standardized workflows

Requirements
Education & Credentials

Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program

Unrestricted California PA/NP license (or in progress)

Current state licensure as required

BLS and AED certification required; ACLS preferred

NRCME (DOT Medical Examiner) certification required

DEA registration required

Occupational medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply

Skills & Competencies

Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills

Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities

Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations

Knowledge of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of occupational injuries

Understanding of systems evaluation and medical office procedures

Strong documentation and organizational skills

Effective verbal communication and teaching abilities

Critical thinking and sound judgment

Ability to foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment

Professional, approachable demeanor with internal and external stakeholders

Commitment to patient-centered care and high-quality outcomes

Willingness to receive feedback and engage in continuous improvement

Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications
