Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Occupational Medicine
Location: near Santa Cruz, CA
Start Date: 3/2026, flexible
Contract Length: 13 weeks (locums or locums‑to‑perm)

Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:00–17:00
Day shifts only
No call
Full‑time weekly coverage required

Practice Details
Outpatient occupational medicine clinic
Evaluates and treats employment‑related injuries and work‑related health needs
Manages return‑to‑work evaluations and follow‑up visits
No inpatient responsibilities
COVID‑19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
EMR experience preferred (specific system not required)
Collaborates with clinic leadership and support staff

Clinical Scope
Evaluate and manage occupational medicine patients
Determine appropriate level of care and treatment plans
Complete documentation by end of each shift
Communicate with employers regarding employee injury status or changes
Ensure compliance with state practice acts and workers’ compensation guidelines
Maintain patient flow, quality standards, and clinic efficiency
Support clinic operations when Medical Director is unavailable
Participate in quality reviews, policy discussions, and workflow initiatives

Requirements
NP or PA — graduates of accredited programs
Active California NP or PA license required at submission
DEA required
BLS and AED required; ACLS preferred
NRCME (DOT Medical Examiner) certification required
Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine preferred
New grads welcome
Strong clinical reasoning and decision‑making skills
Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and handle confidential information
Proficient with basic computer skills and EMR navigation
Team‑oriented and able to work in a multidisciplinary environment
