Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 8:30a - 5p
Coverage: Tuesdays and Thursdays, weekly
Call: None

Work Details:

Patient Population: Adults

Patient Volume: Supports operations at a meat-packing facility. Volume fluctuates daily; up to 16 appointment slots/day.

Support Staff: An Injury Prevention Specialist will always be in the room with the provider. The provider will receive training, and the Director of Clinical Services will be available in person or by phone for additional support. Care is collaborative, with physical therapy and case management involved in treatment planning.

EMR: OHM, client-owned occupational health platform

Setting:
Onsite Occupational/Employee Health clinic

Clinical Scope:
Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses. Provider will develop treatment plans, manage work restrictions and return-to-work status, order and interpret diagnostic testing, and collaborate with the Occupational Health team on case management.

Required Procedural Skills

Provider must be comfortable independently performing all of the following:
- Joint injections
- Aspiration of ganglion cysts
- Aspiration of olecranon bursitis
- Aspiration of knee bursitis
- Aspiration of knee joint effusions
- Suturing and suture removal
- Splinting/immobilization

Additional scope includes:
- Occupational injury and illness management
- Musculoskeletal injury evaluation and treatment
- PFT interpretation
- DOT physicals
- Workers' compensation case management
- Work restrictions and return-to-work evaluations
- Lab and imaging interpretation
- Medication management
- Vaccinations, including tetanus
- PT referrals

Requirements
- Board-certified PA
- Active PA license in hand
- DEA required
- BLS required
- DOT/FMCSA certification required
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Occupational Medicine experience strongly preferred
- Must have current/recent hands-on experience with the required procedures listed above

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 1 week

Travel: Local candidates preferred ; mileage reimbursement available
