Nominations Now Open for MedicalMissions.org's Physician & Advanced Practitioner of the Year Award
Through the daily work we do with thousands of healthcare clinicians like you, we know you are a giving group. To honor the contributions you make, we are sponsoring the MedicalMissions.org Physician and Advanced Practitioner of the Year Awards to honor healthcare providers who give back in their community and around the world through medical missions work. Two honorees will be selected, each receiving $10,000 to donate to his or her chosen medical mission-centered organization. Stem Cell Therapy Brings Back Vision

Two recent studies involving the use of embryonic stem cells to treat age-related macular degeneration were presented at AAO 2017, demonstrating great promise for the future of successful stem-cell therapy. While both studies showed stem-cells replacing damaged cells and slowing the progression of macular degeneration, one of the studies from the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami had some patients actually regain vision after the therapy.

Residents play an undeniably critical role in our health care systems. This year, we will be selecting one exemplary resident to receive our 2017 Resident of the Year award. Who do you know that deserves this honor?

Please submit your nomination before December 31, 2017. Any physician who is currently in a resident program in the United States is eligible. The winner will be announced in January 2018 and will receive a $5000 cash grant.
