Studying the human retina from stem cell to organoid
A team of biologists at Johns Hopkins University have taken research on the human retina to the next level. Rather than taking the more traditional route and studying the eyes of mice or fish, they have cultured human eye organoids from actual stem cell tissues, enabling them to be studied in a laboratory setting from start to finish.
