IHS Optometrist Needed in Browning, MT (Any state license accepted)

Assignment Details

Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: 26 weeks with ongoing extension potential (6+ months)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Full-time preferred, but flexible scheduling options will be considered:
2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Month on / month off
Other part-time schedules

Travel:

All-inclusive rate
No separate travel reimbursements

Practice Details

IHS facility serving a primarily rural/native patient population
Bread-and-butter optometry cases
Preference for providers with rural health or Native Health experience

Clinic Overview

Two exam lanes
Average daily volume: 12–14 patients
Appointment lengths: 20–30 minutes depending on visit type

Services Include:

Routine comprehensive eye exams
Acute eye irritation and foreign body evaluations
Glaucoma screening and treatment
Diabetic retinopathy screening using JVN imaging system
Referrals to specialty ophthalmology services

Please note: No surgical services are performed onsite.

Support Staff

The clinic is currently supported by one Medical Support Assistant (MSA) who assists with:

Operating the JVN imaging machine
Eyeglass ordering and repairs
General clinic coordination and support

There is also one Optometry Technician position currently vacant pending HR completion.

Credentialing Timeline

Approximately 60 days
