Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed; start within 30 days of credentialing)
Length: 6+ months
Coverage: Retina ophthalmology clinic at a federal hospital
Schedule: One clinic per month, Mon–Fri during facility hours (8:00–16:30); about 4 hours per month, up to 16 hours as needed
Call: No call
Volume: About 30 consultations, 5 laser treatments, and 10 intravitreal injections per clinic
Practice Setting: Federal acute care hospital
Procedures: Intravitreal injections and laser treatments

• Retinal consultations, pre- and post-treatment evaluations, and follow-up care
• Intravitreal injections and laser treatments
• Facility provides laser equipment, supplies, and support staff
• Initial 2-day onsite orientation
• Documentation in the facility EHR within 24 hours

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology with retina experience
• Active, unrestricted medical license (any state) and current DEA
• BLS required
• U.S. citizenship required
• Background, security, and child protection screenings; vaccination and TB documentation
• Credentialing: approximately 45–60 days
