Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity supporting a Level 1 Trauma Center. The physician will provide inpatient orthopedic coverage, including rounding, consultations, and 24-hour inpatient trauma/ED call.

Orthopedics serves as the first call for trauma fractures. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a broad range of orthopedic cases, with the exception of pelvic fractures.

Schedule & Coverage:
- Schedule: Thursday–Monday
- Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
- Coverage: 24-hour call with inpatient rounding
- Patient Population: Adult to geriatric
- Expected Duties: Inpatient rounding, orthopedic consultations, and inpatient beeper call for trauma/ED

Clinical Details
- Trauma Center: Level 1
- Orthopedics is first call for trauma fractures
- Pelvic fractures: Not required
- Candidate should be comfortable with other orthopedic cases
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: PA/NP and scrub tech

Requirements:
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery required
- Active Missouri medical license required
- IMLC candidates are not being considered
- DEA required
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- Ability to provide the required trauma and inpatient orthopedic coverage

Credentialing:
- Standard credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
- Temporary privileges may be available within 30–45 days for candidates with a clean file
