Orthopedic Surgical Physician Assistant Needed in California
Target Start Date: April 27, 2026
Contract Length: 6 months (locum tenens), ongoing

Schedule

Monday–Friday

Outpatient: Monday, Tuesday, Friday — 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Surgery: Wednesday & Thursday — variable hours based on OR schedule


Call Required:

2 weeks per month: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM
2 weekends per month: High‑volume weekends may include ~20 calls


Shift Type: Day shift; full‑time coverage


Practice Details

Setting: Mixed outpatient clinic and hospital surgical service
Support Staff: Medical assistants, front desk
Patient Volume:

Outpatient: ~20 patients per day (in‑person + virtual)
Surgical: 3–4 cases per day


Patient Population: Adult – Geriatric
Department Focus: Pre‑op and post‑op in outpatient clinic; hospital-based surgical support
EMR: Epic


Clinical Scope

Combination of clinic responsibilities and first assist in surgery
Typical responsibilities include:

First assist for orthopedic surgeries
Knee, hip, shoulder procedures
Total joint replacements (most common)
Injections and suture removal in outpatient setting


High‑volume orthopedic practice


Requirements

Board Certification: Orthopedics (PA‑C)
License: Active California license required (willing to license)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, DEA
Minimum Experience: 1+ year
EMR Experience: Epic (required)
Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 days outpatient / ~90 days hospital

Beverly Hills, California — Orthopedic clinic and hospital‑based surgical practice environment; full‑time onsite role.
