Locums Orthopedic Surgeon in Northern Arizona

Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon for a locums opportunity in Arizona. This is a hospital-based assignment with 24-hour call coverage and scheduled clinic days built into each coverage block. Case volume is manageable with strong OR support.

0700 1/30 – 0700 2/02 (Clinic on 1/30)

February

0700 2/06 – 0700 2/09 (Clinic on 2/06)

0700 2/12 – 0700 2/16 (Clinic on 2/13)

0700 2/20 – 0700 2/23 (Clinic on 2/20)

0700 2/27 – 0700 3/02 (Clinic on 2/27)

March

0700 3/06 – 0700 3/09 (Clinic on 3/06)

0700 3/13 – 0700 3/23 (Clinics on 3/13 and 3/20)

0700 3/27 – 0700 3/30 (Clinic on 3/27)

Call & Clinic Details

24-hour beeper call during coverage blocks

Clinic: ½ to 1 day per coverage period

Minimal overnight coverage needs, especially after 10:00 PM

Case Volume

Average 2 surgical cases per day

Approximately 6 new consults per day

Clinical Scope

General orthopedic surgery

Management of pelvic and acetabular fractures

Pediatric cases included

Support Staff

Scrub techs available in the OR for case completion


Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery

Active AZ license (IMLC Letter of Qualification accepted)

DEA: Required

CSR: Not required

BLS: Required

Minimum 1 year experience

Credentialing

Fast credentialing: approximately 21 days

• Jan-Mar dates
• Mainly Call but some clinic coverage
• Manage pelvic and acetabular fractures and pediatrics
