Orthopedic surgeon needed in Aurora, IL! Willing to license!

Job description

Position: Orthopedic Surgeon – Sports Medicine Fellowship Trained
Start Date: July / ASAP
Contract Length: 6 months
📍 Location Highlights
Located ~45 minutes outside of Chicago
Busy Level II Trauma Center with established ortho program
📅 Assignment Details
Clinic: 2 days/week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch)
OR: 2 days/week (starts at 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Flexible depending on provider
📞 Call Requirements
Weekend Call: 1:7 rotation
Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
Weeknight Call:
Shared with 6 surgeons
Some weeks no call, others ~1 night/week
Includes ER calls + required inpatient rounding within 24 hours

🩺 Work Details
Clinic Volume: 25–30 patients/day
Surgical Volume: ~8–10 cases/week
Case Mix:
ACL / MCL / PCL repairs
Meniscus injuries
Knee ligament reconstruction
General sports medicine cases
Hip arthroscopy a plus
👥 Support Structure
APPs assist in clinic and serve as First Assist in OR
APPs help triage ER calls and share call responsibilities
Collaborative orthopedic team
✅ Requirements
Board Certification: BC/BE Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship: Sports Medicine REQUIRED
License: Illinois license or IMLC accepted

Timeline: ~3 months (temp privileges available)

• 26 weeks with option to extend
• On call required
