Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for a full-time locum position starting July 1, 2025. Join a collaborative and well-supported orthopedic team at a Level 3 Trauma Center that provides comprehensive orthopedic care, including surgical and trauma services.
Practice Highlights
Clinic Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call Schedule: 24-hour call coverage with follow-up clinic appointments
Inpatient Responsibilities: Post-op rounding, ED/inpatient consults, OR time
Outpatient Responsibilities: General ortho clinic, follow-ups, and procedures
Average Daily Hospital Census: Primarily consults; overall avg census: 160 pts/day
Team & Support
Orthopedic Physicians: 4
Advanced Practice Providers (APPs): 7
Supervision of APPs: Required
Nurse to Provider Ratio: 1 nurse per provider
Support Staff per Provider:
3 Receptionists
2 Surgery Schedulers
3 Cast Technicians
Facilities:
2 Exam Rooms and 3 Cast Rooms per Provider
On-site Medical Imaging, Lab, and Pharmacy
Procedures & Services
Providers must be proficient in the following:
Total joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder)
Hand, wrist, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and foot procedures
Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine
General orthopedic disorders

Clinic: GE Centricity (switching to Epic in December 2025)

Teaching Opportunities:
Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residency programs
Physician Assistant student rotations
Requirements
Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (Required)
Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility)
Experience in trauma call coverage and supervising APPs
Proficiency in a full range of orthopedic surgical procedures
