Shift Length: 24 Hours

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide inpatient-only coverage at two hospital campuses located approximately 13 miles apart. This is a hospital-based opportunity with no clinic responsibilities. The physician will provide 24-hour trauma call coverage and manage inpatient orthopedic trauma cases as needed.

SCHEDULE & CALL DETAILS

24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

7–10 shifts per month

Weekend coverage as needed

OR access available daily

Inpatient-only call (no clinic)

Pager call for 24 hours; called in as needed for inpatient cases

Must remain within 30 minutes of the facility while on call

PRACTICE SETTING

Trauma Level III facility

Average daily hospital census: 230–250

8 Orthopedic Physicians (specialties include total joint, spine, hand, podiatry)

8 Advanced Practice Providers

No supervision of APPs required

Nursing and APP support available in the OR

Medical Imaging: Available

Lab & Pharmacy: Available

EMR: Cerner

Teaching opportunities: None

Outreach: No

Telehealth: No

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide 24-hour inpatient orthopedic trauma call coverage

Manage orthopedic trauma cases and same-day add-ons

Total joint procedures are not required

REQUIREMENTS

Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery – Required

Fellowship Trained in Orthopedics – Required

Must be experienced – Required

Provider must be willing to work at both Davenport and Silvis locations (confirm at time of name clear) – Required

Clean malpractice and background history – Required

Self-Query NPDB (pulled within 30 days) must be submitted at time of presentation

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

One of the following is required:

Active Iowa (IA) and Illinois (IL) licenses

Active IA or IL license and active IMLC

Active IMLC (LOQ required at time of name clear)
