MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center – Waterloo, IA
MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center – Cedar Falls, IA

Start: September 2026
Coverage Type: Locum Tenens (On-Call Only)

Schedule
24/7 On-Call Coverage (No Clinic Work)
Must cover all required date blocks:
Sept 14 @ 0700 – Sept 28 @ 0700
Nov 6 @ 0700 – Nov 9 @ 0700
Dec 14 @ 0700 – Dec 28 @ 0700
Practice Setting
Inpatient hospital coverage across 2 facilities
Physicians: 4 | APPs: 4
Avg Census: 10–20 patients/day (combined)
EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities
Full-scope orthopedic surgery care
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal conditions
Manage trauma, degenerative diseases, infections, and injuries
Provide consults, inpatient care, and emergency stabilization
May assist in ICU-level care per hospital policy
Required to take ALL incoming calls (non-negotiable)

Requirements
Board Certified – Orthopedic Surgery (REQUIRED)
Fellowship Trained (REQUIRED)
Active Iowa License or IMLC (REQUIRED)
Must be experienced
Clean malpractice/background (REQUIRED)
NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – REQUIRED
