Job Description:
24 hour call shifts - will have future dates as well
*MUST be US Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery- MUST have active MI License, MI CDS, and MI DEA.
Coverage: All dates are 7am – 7am coverage for call only:*Orientation onsite required morning of assignment
*Orientation Tues 9/16 @0830 - 1500
24 hr Call shifts: Weds 9/17 @0700 - Thurs 9/25, ending Friday 9/26 @0700.

Situations when the on-call locum Orthopedic Surgeon would be called to the hospital:
• ED Consults, Trauma, Surgery, Rounding on surgical patient

Documentation of Patient Contact Hours (included call back hours included in the rate and charged call back hours)
*Physicians are required to provide supporting notes listed on their timesheet entries to verify Call Back hours (patient contact hours) and Overtime hours submitted and associated with the acceptable occurrences mentioned above.
*Physicians must document in the timesheet the specific reason for the call back and they should have a description such that the note can be validated if an audit report was generated in an electronic health record.
*Overtime hours must be pre-approved by a manager or designee. Overtime is considered hours over 40 hours.
*Telephone calls and medical record reviews should not be considered on site call back

* Call-back time does NOT include travel time to or from where they are being housed when responding to a hospital request.
*Physician is not required to be on-site while providing Call Support (this means Market should not be charged for call back hours if a physician decides they want to stay in the hospital, but there is not the need for him/her to be there based on the criteria contained herein)
