Locum - Physician - Surgery - Orthopedic Kearney, NE

Job description

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum opportunity at a Level II Trauma Center in Kearney, Nebraska. The provider will deliver 24-hour orthopedic trauma call coverage in an inpatient/ED setting with no clinic or office responsibilities.

Responsibilities include managing Level II orthopedic trauma cases, performing surgical procedures as needed, and providing general orthopedic and fracture care. The provider will work alongside dedicated ED and OR support staff, while hospitalists handle patient admissions. The facility utilizes EPIC EMR.

• Level II Trauma Center – 24-hour orthopedic trauma call coverage with surgical cases as needed; no office hours.
• Flexible Week-Long Coverage – Multiple 7-day call blocks available from August through December 2026 (7 AM–7 AM)
• Hospital-Based Practice – EPIC EMR, ED & OR support staff, low patient volume (1–2 patients/day), with hospitalists handling admissions.
