The Oswego Speedway can satisfy your need for speed, and a house full of history at the Richardson-Bates House Museum will show you how life proceeded in the Victorian period. Military history aficionados can take part in the statewide commemoration of the French & Indian War that will continue through 2010 at Fort Ontario State Historic Site. Or you might prefer the sandy beaches and vast open spaces for boating on the lake.

If you like fishing or maybe just want to try it, fish are plentiful here. Anglers from around the world come to this area, called the Fishing Capital of the Northeast, to catch trophy salmon, walleye and bass. In July, you can join the 300,000 visitors who arrive annually to celebrate Oswego’s Harborfest, with music, fireworks and lots of summer activities.
