Locums Orthopedic Surgeon – Spine / Neuro (Injections Only)

Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with spine or neurosurgery experience for a non-surgical, injection-focused outpatient opportunity covering an established private practice.

This role is ideal for a spine-trained orthopedic surgeon who enjoys clinical evaluation and procedural work without operative responsibilities.

Position Highlights

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Ongoing

Schedule: Start with 1 day per month, growing to ~4 shifts/month

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Flexibility: Highly flexible scheduling

Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic / Private practice

Coverage Type: Clinic-based

Clinical Scope

99% non-surgical cases

Perform injections and conservative spine care only

No surgery required or expected

No Schedule II narcotics prescribed

Procedures

Epidural injections

Facet injections

Cortisone injections

Joint injections

Spine evaluations and orthopedic workups

Fracture care experience is a plus

Providers may perform only the procedures they are comfortable with.

Patient Details

Volume: ~25–30 patients per day (including new patients)

Population: Primarily adult; minimal pediatrics

Must be comfortable evaluating conditions such as whiplash and other spine-related injuries

Technology & Resources

Imaging available via PACS (outside images commonly provided)

C-arm access available (no in-office plain film fluoroscopy)

Multidisciplinary team including:

PAs & NPs

Physiatrist

Pain Anesthesiologist

RN support

Stanford-trained Sports Medicine physician (shoulders)

Foot & Ankle specialist

Requirements

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Spine or Neurosurgery experience required (non-operative)

Malpractice: Required

Comfortable working patients up to potential surgical candidacy (no surgery performed)
