Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Orthopaedic Surgery

Job Details:

• General orthopedic surgery coverage with 24-hour call responsibilities
• Dates of coverage: June 29, 7A - July 1, 7A
• Expect 0-3 consults per day
• Expect 0-2 ED visits per day for closed reductions and admissions
• Expect 0-2 surgeries per day including wrist, ankle, and hip fractures and I&D
• Long bone trauma is stabilized and transferred
• Provider must be within 20 minutes of the hospital at all times while on call
• Active NC license and NC DEA (with NC address) required
• Board certification required; please include NPI# in candidate bid
• Provider must be vaccinated
• Must be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare and enrolled with PECOS as a provider
• Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS
• Facility is transitioning to Meditech Expansion during coverage period
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 5 days
• Required specialty skills include:
  - Arthroscopy
  - Total joint replacement (hip, knee, and other)
  - Joint revision or repair (shoulder, hip, knee, and other)
  - Hand surgery
  - Tendon release/repair
  - Peripheral nerve surgery
  - Spinal surgery with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
  - Spinal surgery without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
  - Percutaneous disc surgery
• Onsite hospital-owned apartments provided - clean, private, with cable and Wi-Fi
• Travel expenses capped at $500 including airfare, rental car, or mileage (not both)
