Locums Non-Surgical Orthopedic Physician

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon interested in a non-surgical, outpatient clinic role in PA. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians looking to stay clinically active without operative responsibilities. Many providers in this role are semi-retired, though all qualified candidates are welcome.

Assignment Details

Location: Hazleton, PA

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Flexible

Schedule: 2–4 days per week

Shift Hours: 9:00a – 5:00p

Call: None

Practice Setting: Clinic / Private Practice

Clinic Coverage: Will float between up to 3 clinics as needed (occasionally more than one clinic per day based on scheduling)

Clinical Responsibilities

Patient Volume: 20–30 patients per day

Case Mix:

Personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, slip & fall cases

Post-operative follow-up visits

No surgical consults

Procedures:

Occasional shoulder injections (rare; not required if provider is not comfortable)

Documentation:

Paper charting

Same-day notes required

Candidate Requirements

Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery (non-operative role)

Board Certification: Required (current or previously certified if certification has lapsed)

Experience: Minimum 10+ years clinical experience preferred

License: Pennsylvania license required (IMLC considered; local candidates strongly preferred)

DEA: Required
