Pain Management Physician – West Virginia Mountain Escape | Flexible Schedule + Interventional Procedures!
Job description
Looking for your next Pain Management assignment surrounded by the scenic Appalachian Mountains? A hospital-affiliated pain management clinic in Elkins, WV is seeking an experienced Pain Management Physician for a locum tenens opportunity beginning in December.
This position offers a combination of outpatient pain management and interventional procedures, including spinal injections, radiofrequency ablations, nerve blocks, and ultrasound-guided treatments.
Start Date: 12/7/2026
Contract Length: 3–6 months
Schedule:
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Coverage needed 2–3 weeks per month
• No nights, weekends, or call
Practice Setting:
• Hospital-affiliated Pain Management Clinic
• Outpatient/Private Practice Setting
• Level IV Trauma Hospital
Patients per Day: Approximately 15
Patient Population: Adults ages 30–80
Cases/Procedures:
• Fluoroscopically guided spinal injections
• Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar epidural steroid injections
• Medial branch blocks
• Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of cervical and lumbar medial branches
• Facet and sacroiliac (SI) joint injections
• Trigger-point injections
• Peripheral nerve blocks
• Ultrasound-guided injections and procedures
Support Staff: 2 Registered Nurses, Radiology technologist for procedures
EMR: NextGen
Requirements:
• Board Certified Physician with Pain Management qualifications
• Accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship or qualifying board certification required
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Active West Virginia license preferred; willing to license
• IMLC or eligibility for temporary West Virginia licensure accepted
• DEA required
• Proficiency in fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventional pain procedures
Preferred Experience: Intrathecal pain pump management
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60+ days
