Job description

Aya Locums is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) to join a nationally recognized pediatric cardiac program in Washington. This ongoing assignment offers a unique opportunity to care for complex congenital cardiac patients while working alongside a dedicated cardiac anesthesia team in a highly specialized practice. Assignment Details
• Start Date: November 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Coverage + Beeper Call
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5x10-hour shifts
• Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call: Weekend and night beeper call available (not in-house)
• Credentialing: Emergency privileges available; completed applications may be processed in as little as 1–2 days

Work Details
• Patient Population: Adults (18+) with congenital cardiac conditions and pediatric cardiac patients requiring specialized anesthesia support
• Practice Model: Independent practice model with no CRNA support
• Case Mix:
o Cardiac OR
o Cardiac Catheterization Lab
o Electrophysiology (EP) Procedures
o Cardiac CT/MRI Imaging
o Congenital cardiac procedures
• Typical Daily Volume:
o Approximately 1 OR cardiac case
o Around 3 Cath Lab procedures
o 2–3 cardiac imaging studies
• Responsibilities Include:
o Cardiac bypass procedures
o Neonatal and infant cardiac surgery support
o Complex congenital heart surgery
o ECMO procedures
o Cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology cases
o Participation in quality improvement and Heart Center initiatives

Practice Setting
• Hospital-Based Cardiac Program
• Collaborative Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Team

Requirements
• Active CAA License (or willingness to obtain Washington licensure)
• IMLC Accepted for eligible providers
• Case Logs: Previous 12 months required
• Strong recent experience with cardiac anesthesia required
