Position Overview
A high-acuity academic medical center in Oklahoma City is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens assignment. This is a Level I Trauma facility with a complex pediatric case mix—ideal for providers experienced in high-acuity environments. This is not a surgery center setting; candidates must be comfortable managing critically ill pediatric patients.
Assignment Details
Setting: Academic, Level I Trauma Center
Start: Upon credentialing (60–90 days)
Schedule: Full-time coverage preferred
Cases:
4–5 cases per day (hospital)
4–5 elective cases per day
Patient Population: Pediatric (high acuity)
Responsibilities
Provide hands-on anesthesia care for pediatric patients
Supervise and collaborate with residents and CRNAs (some independent case work required)
Offer supportive guidance to residents and medical students in an academic environment
Requirements
Board Certification: ABMS or AOA (Board Eligible accepted)
Fellowship: Pediatric Anesthesiology required
Experience: Minimum 1 year post-training
Trauma: Recent Level I Trauma experience required
Case Logs: Minimum of 100 pediatric cases within the past 12 months
Certifications:
BLS (AHA required)
PALS or ACLS
Licensure: Open to candidates willing to obtain Oklahoma license
Other: Clean background and malpractice history

Hospital Size: ~900 beds
Support Staff: Strong daily support including Anesthesiologists and CRNAs
